| Why triathlon? |
I think it's a healthy mix of disciplines, you never get bored, there's always a goal to work towards and anyone can do it. I love seeing the different people out on the course and everyone has a story. |
| Upcoming goals |
Ironman WA...can't think past that one right now : ) Keep track of Deb's countdown to Ironman WA. |

| Proudest moment in sport |
I guess it wasn't my proudest moment as such, but it was when my dad first saw me do ironman, it was a shocker and I ended up with liters of saline in the medical tent. He came to see me and I thought he would be angry but he said he understood what all the training was about now and why I just had to finish. It was more me being proud of him for not thinking I was a complete idiot (even if I was!!) |
| Personal bests |
Last year's IM WA was a PB but it wasn't about the time. I had a ball out there and enjoyed every minute. I hope this year's race is more of the same. |
| What is the key to successful training? |
Consistency, consistency, consistency. Support of those around you, not taking it all too seriously, keeping perspective and grounded and recovery is as important as the training....Enjoying it also helps. |
| What motivates you the most? |
My coach Chris. Knowing there's always room for improvement and that there are people out there that can't do what we can do even if they wanted to. I will also be thinking of the winery tours and lunches post IMWA to keep me motivated out there. |
| Your words of wisdom |
You will run out of confidence before you'll run out of ability. |
