| Why triathlon? |
I'm nearing 40 and it was either a younger woman, a sports car or something else stupid. I like my wife, a sports car isn't really me - so that left triathlon. |
| Upcoming goals |
Complete IM Western Australia in under 12 hours. Keep track of Steve's countdown to IMWA. |
| Stengths |
Ability to persevere in the face of pain - I spent a good 5+ hours puking on and off during the "run" at IM China, but kept going until carted off in an ambulance. |
| Proudest moment in sport |
Beating Jason Keg, a good buddy, at the Macau tri (olympic distance). Granted, he did an extra lap on the bike - but I swear I would have beat him anyway! |
| Personal bests |
Olympic distance - 2:37 (which I hope to get down to 2:30 this year) |
| What is the key to successful training? |
Still figuring that out, but I suspect it's "smart miles". |
| What motivates you the most? |
Setting goals that I don't think I can achieve - and then meeting them. |
| Your words of wisdom |
A bit of tri wisdom: eat the elephant one bite at a time (I read this on a tri site a while ago and I'm stealing it) |
